FanDuel Urges Michigan Users to Protest Proposed Tax Increases
FanDuel has launched a campaign against two proposed tax bills in Michigan that aim to increase levies on digital sports betting and online casinos. Since the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018, gambling laws have been managed at the state level. However, some lawmakers and responsible gambling advocates are pushing for nationwide guidelines.
In September, Senator Richard Blumenthal and Representative Paul Tonko introduced the SAFE Bet Act. The proposed legislation would establish federal standards for responsible gambling, impose stricter advertising requirements, and require federal approval for states seeking to expand betting operations.
